These three days, from May 11th to 13th, are known for bringing a sudden return of cold weather, capable of damaging your young plants. Should you patiently wait for these meteorological saints to depart before filling your garden?
Not so fast! While the Ice Saints were once feared by gardeners, their danger is now being questioned. Climate data does not show a systematic peak in frost on these precise dates. However, it can occur a few days before, during the month of April.
Nevertheless, caution is still advisable. Indeed, late cold weather is always possible, even after May 13th. It is therefore important to remain vigilant and to take a few precautions to protect your fragile plantings.
